Il Black Friday (Italians do it too)!

LA Dolce Vibe, by LA RELLA
While Black Friday originated in the United States, Italians have wholeheartedly embraced it over the last decade, especially driven by major international retailers and e-commerce.
Here are the key things to know about Black Friday in Italy:
1. It is a Major Shopping Event
Italians participate heavily in Black Friday, seeing it as the official start of their Christmas shopping season. They often plan their purchases strategically around this week of discounts.
2. The Name is Still "Black Friday"
Although the direct Italian translation is Venerdì nero, the event is almost universally referred to by the English term, "Black Friday," or often extended to a "Black Week." Italians often use English words and phrases in their every day speak.
3. The Italian Distinction: Saldi
Italy has a strong, long-standing tradition of regulated seasonal sales called Saldi (winter sales usually start in January). Black Friday differs because it's a short, intense period of deep discounts, making it a unique and highly anticipated event.
...... Here is the interesting thing. There is a season of highly regulated Sale "Saldi."
the Italian shopping calendar contains a separate, traditional sale period that is specific to each region: The Winter Sales (Saldi Invernali). Most of these sales occur between January 2nd and January 8th.
What a great way to spend the New Year! Shopping and so many other reasons to take in the beauty of Italy.
